Content Description
The collection contains a portfolio of logotypes created by Robert McCullough, professor of graphic arts, for Old Dominion University. Included are examples of the proposed logos on business cards and letterhead, and features the ODU racetrack logo that eventually was chosen as the official logo in 1974.

Biographical / Historical
Robert A. McCullough was born on November 22, 1945 and McCullough earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from Old Dominion University in 1971, and an master of fine arts in design from Syracuse University in 1978. Not long after graduating from ODU, McCullough joined the art department and became a full-time faculty member in 1980. He taught several classes related to graphic design and left ODU to start a small graphic design company. He was married to Harriet McCullough and passed away July 13, 2009.
