The collection consists of Zelda J. Miller's elementary-level teaching materials on the subjects of Hampton Roads and Virginia history, some hand-written. Also included are tourism materials, civic-minded publications and information regarding Hampton Roads ports and commerce. Of particular note is information on Norfolkâs historic mace.

Zelda J. Miller was a teacher at several schools in Norfolk, Virginia during the 1950s and 1960s including the Robert E. Lee School. Miller passed away on September 11, 1998 at the age of 94.
